- Professionally I am neither, but astronomy is one of my hobbies. I love all scientific branches relating to astronomy, including astrobiology, astrogeology, physics, technology, etc. And you?

- I don’t know if you’ve been to the Griffith Observatory in Los Feliz, but their website has a great list of events going on. http://www.griffithobs.org/
  
  You can also join the Los Angeles Astronomical Society (http://www.laas.org/) but I believe there is a membership fee.
  
  And the California Science Center has the Space Shuttle Endeavor exhibit that I’ve also been meaning to visit!

- Great! I’ll have to check out the Friday presentations at Griffith. It’s so pretty up at the observatory there. I recently started attending the lecture series at JPL (http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/events/lectures.php) and really enjoy it.

Lucky for me, I have seen the aurora borealis several times (first time when I was 14 yrs old from the roof of the Harvard College Observatory). It is on my bucket list to see a total solar eclipse.
